DynaKon Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026

1. The short version

2. Who is responsible

DynaKon is provided by Michael Connelly, an individual doing business as DynaKon, United States ("we", "us"). Because nothing about you is sent to us, we hold no personal information about you from your use of the extension. Contact: support@dynakon.app.

3. What DynaKon reads, and why

WhatWhyWhere it goes
Audio from media playing on pages you visitTo measure the sound and adjust the EQ and levelAnalyzed in memory on your device, then discarded. Never saved or sent.
The sound of a tab you choose to tune by clicking "Not Tuned" (used for sites whose audio is copy-protected, such as some streaming services)To measure the sound and adjust the EQ and level when the page does not let the extension read its playerStarts only when you click, using Chrome's tab-audio capture, and stops when you leave the site or close the tab. Processed in memory on your device in a hidden extension page, then discarded. Never saved, recorded, or sent. Chrome may show its own indicator that the tab is being captured. DynaKon does not copy, extract, or remove any copy protection; it only adjusts the sound that is already playing.
Track title, artist, and album as announced by the page (Media Session), or the page title; the site's hostname; the artwork addressTo recognize when a new track starts, to give the tuning a first guess about the kind of audio (for example a podcast), to remember tuning per track, and to show details in the panelHeld in memory on your device and shown in the panel. Titles are not stored (see Section 4).
The name of your audio output device, only when your browser makes it available to the pageTo choose a suitable tuning (for example for laptop speakers or earbuds)Classified on your device into a generic category such as "Earbuds". Only the category is kept. The device name is discarded.
Playback state of media elements (playing, paused, volume, position, length)To process only what is playing, and to show progress in the panelMemory only

DynaKon does not read page content other than the items above, form fields, passwords, cookies, browsing history, or the contents of pages.

4. What DynaKon stores on your device

In your browser's local extension storage (not sent to us):

The track memory is limited to 300 tracks (the oldest are replaced). Uninstalling DynaKon removes what it stored on your device. Versions before 1.4.0 stored track titles and a device name; updating to 1.4.0 or later deletes that old data.

5. Network activity

DynaKon contains no analytics and no remote code. It makes no network requests of its own, with two ordinary exceptions:

Web pages can observe the audio they play and the messages on their own page, as they always can. DynaKon is built so that what it exposes to a page is limited to a few non-identifying settings and tuning remembered for that page's own site; it does not expose your site list or device name.

6. Our website

The website at dynakon.app is a simple static site hosted by Cloudflare. We do not run analytics or advertising cookies on it. Cloudflare, like any web host, may process technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Emails you send to support@dynakon.app are received by us and used only to reply to you.

7. Sharing, selling, and advertising

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use or transfer information obtained through the Software for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending purposes, or for any purpose unrelated to DynaKon's single purpose of tuning audio and showing audio details.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. The use of information received from Google APIs and Chrome by DynaKon adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

8. Your rights

We hold no personal information about you from your use of the extension, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, port, or delete on our side. You can see and delete everything DynaKon stores through your browser (extension storage), and you can delete all of it by uninstalling. If you email us, we hold your message and address, and depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act) you may ask us to access, correct, or delete them, or complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us at support@dynakon.app. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because DynaKon does not track you.

9. Children

DynaKon is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security

We design DynaKon to keep your information on your device: it sends nothing to us, processes audio locally, limits what it shares with web pages, validates messages it receives, restricts its own pages with a strict content security policy, and requests only the permissions it needs. No software can be guaranteed perfectly secure. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, please email support@dynakon.app with the details and give us a reasonable time to fix it before you disclose it publicly.

11. Changes

If we change how DynaKon handles information, for example by adding optional paid features, we will update this Policy at www.dynakon.app/privacy, change the date above, and describe material changes in the update notes. If a change would involve receiving any information from you, we will ask for your consent in the Software first.
